http://saqqararecords.com/html/4sale.htmAll good advice and cool software. I _really_ like the Debian Multimedia guys,
in the long run they'll come up with something really cool.

That said, the real problem these days is that so much of the high quality
audio tech and hardware is proprietary. Until there are drivers for the best
hardware, native versions of the software, and some way to _legitimately_
use stuff like VST plug-ins on GNU/linux there will always be a penalty paid
for not being on Windows or OS X. The Debian guys are purists to the core
so they'll be the last ones to cave on these issues. That's why I think the
'nod and wink' attitude of the Ubuntu Studio crew is likely to wind up with
something workable before anyone else.

I hope I'm wrong. If I could run Live and all of my VST f/x and instruments
on Debian tomorrow I'd be the happiest kid in the world. I'd burn all of
my M$oft stuff in a second.

With the email exploit a while back that everybody was talking about, you

then you to click on that piece of software to have you system compromised.
Who would do this? Anyways, Apple fixed it.

How long, and how complex, is the clarinet part? The reason I'm asking
is that there are users here, myself included, that I'd wager could
transcribe it for you in very short order if it wasn't a huge time-sink
(like "all the clarinet parts from Fiddler On The Roof"). Can you post
the file somewhere so I can take a listen?

double coil types fall under the following catagories that I've seen:
Wax wrapped with tape.
Potted
Encased in a metal closure

If you can open it w/o destroying the pickup, your chances are pretty good
IMO. Most the time a humbucker is nothing more than 2 single coils mounted
either side by side or on top of each other. All you need to do to tap them
is put a on/off switch on the wire from coil to coil that shunts to ground.
Typically, I've seen manu's use a post on the plate of the pickup to join
the 2 coils. Just tap a solder point to the switch/ground mech and you're
there.

>>I am sure you all have this problem when you cut an audio track in pieces
then by using DX effects there is pop occuring on start and end of cut pieces
of audio.
For workaround you should have an empty 24bit or 16bit audio file (created
by wavelab for instance) and then cut a small piece of this empty file as
big as your gap(s) are.
Then you crossfade it with actual audio file and then the pop goes away.
If you use freeform you have also to asign these small empty pieces of audio
with the same instrument as your actual audio is.
Even if you have a long audio file these opos occur at the very start and
end of the audio file.
Thus you can put this empty portion before and after to avoid clicks and
pops.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
DimitriosI've got a desktop pc that is a turd. Celeron 2.6Mhz, rates about 350 on
Passmark Charts.

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/

I want to build a new pc that is about 1500 on the charts like an e6600 core
2 duo. I'd like to reuse my IDE drives and have capability to go Sata in
the future and I want a silent power supply. 4GB ram. Any ideas for the
cheapest way to get there?

The e6600 is about $200 on ebay and i'm not stuck on that processor but one
in that range. This box is just for writing code, database stuff and non
music stuff.

Thanks,
JohnThanks, Gantt.

It's been years since played a PRS .I will go into a store and play one
to get an idea of what the extra sounds are like.
