This is so unlike you, you seem to have mellowed since leaving Paris.
In those days you would have blamed Paris, ID or anything else to do with
the soft or hardware.
Bring it on.

Sorry mate, but it looks like PT is for you....compatibility..that's what
it's all about.
I just did a session with my PT / M-Audio rig, and apart from having to use
software controls, (no controller yet), it all went and sounded well, except
that I could do so much more in terms of processing with Nuendo.
(I had to use PT cause an AppleOSX install disk that I was trying to copy
hosed my operating system, and when I reinstalled XP, Nuendo didn't
work.....does now though...boy am I relieved.

booth, initially with a ribbon and an SM'57.
The ribbon didn't really work for this so we used two SM57's into a pair of
Demeter HM-1 preamp channels and then output both to the L channel of two
RNC's, one set to just kiss the signal in really nice mode and the other
output to a Jensen JT-11 1:1 transformer and set to threshold -10 ration
4:1, fast attack, med release in standard mode.
Fun session.
I hope I don't hurt anybody's feelings. Did somebody got boned on this one,

Men are inherently evil.
Women are inherently good.
Testosterone is responsible for all the misery in the world.
All men should be castrated at birth, except for a few designated breeders.
There, now your arguments make sense. I'm not sure who you're arguing with,
however, since I haven't said anything like that.
If you were to describe to me what your view of a "real man" is, I'm 99%
certain I would agree with you! I can see that I really hit a sore spot
with you by bringing gender into the conversation, and I kind of regret even
bringing it up, since the bigger issue here is crazy idiots with guns, and
how to better predict and prevent this stuff from happening, regardless of
gender.
But riddle me this, Batman: how do you think the world, including yourself,
would be responding right now if this lunatic had been a woman?
Just curious.

Ok, so you thought your new Cubase girlfriend was cheating on you but you
were wrong. You can still have the same love you had before. I think you
need to take Cubase to dinner and a movie tonight.
hehe,
JohnIf the box has a button, DJ has to press it. You should see him play whack

problems I had with Paris. I was always trying to use the Paris features
like Freeform mode with looping punch in and it would crash non stop so I
was always pissed in Paris.
Now in Cubase I'm hitting Stacked mode and it's amazing. I hope Cubase proves
to be the solid DAW I'm feeling currently.
BTW, I'm still loving the Air Supply mixes. You killed em !

Might be a dumb question but do you just archive the session including audio
files (unrendered) to a hard drive or DVD
or
Do you render all the tracks with or without plugins and save those PAFs
with the session
or
Do you render with plugins then convert all your PAFs to wav files and save
those
or
Do you create stems and save those .
or
Do you just wipe that hard drive clean and move onDeej, Do I have to do my kb/s/track math for you again to explain what kind
of througput you need for audio recording? ATA 130 is _way_ more than sufficient
for even massive projects. Also, the on board SATA controllers tend to conflict
less with everything (in my experience) than do the other controllers. So,
get a 750GB SATA drive from newegg and track to that. Trust me, when you're
running a 60 track project it'll spend more time chatting up the southbridge
and making South Park jokes than working.

roflI usually render all the tracks unprocessed and put
them in song folders so they can be transferred to any other system.
Then I give them the full, original PARIS session.
Don't forget track mixes and track w/ background vocals...
Put all this on their drive...

We have a saying in english. Ask a stupid question get a stupid answer.
Or in your case, ask a loaded and clearly prejudiced question, and get a
sarcastic answer.
Fair enough, no?
DCAll right, last post on this. Let me make this clear.
I respect you for being intelligent and articulate.
I respect your right to free speech.
I like the fact that anyone can come to this forum and post OT comments.
I agree that it would be better if we don’t attack each other.
But
I don’t feel like engaging you in these kinds of discussions. (You are the
only person I have ever cut off, but I just don’t see the point.) At the
same time I feel it is inappropriate to let you get away with some of your
comments without any response.
So personal attacks aside, I may choose to post something like.
If that makes you sad, so be it.

That's the problem... You did NOT post "no comment", you included
"no comment" in the context of snide "chewing tobacco", "manly-man",
and "flat earth" references.
Guys, we can accept that others see the world differently, and hang out
anyway, or we can fight. We cannot be smartasses and then claim to
be "tolerant". It's bullshit, and you can do better.

http://www.zombietime.com/hall_of_shame/He, he, I can see you're fired up as the cowboy youre trying to be;-) I knew
it, if you had a gun, you would try to do shooting before thinking, like
you're allways trying to shoot people down with words here when something is
burning on;-) Relax man, take a deep breath, most of the cowboys are dying
young and hard. As I can see, Hollywood have documented it very well up

Tell me about it...
I went to a public supermarket and NO ONE acknowledged me.
For a second I thought the cashier recognized me, but then she
quickly greeted the next person in line and moved me on.
What kind of society do we live in???

constructive assistance goes. I only go to the Cubase forums if I hit a snag
and need some feedback on whether it is a *feature* or not. Saves me time in
a (so far) unfamiliar world. As luck would have it, in this particular
situation, the *issues* I was having with my RAID controller are similar to
what some on cubase .net are having with the program itself........but their
issues are probably hardware related too. My rig just has so many variables
that when I have a problem, I tend to want to throw a pretty wide net to see
what kind of flotsam I can scour from top to bottom.
Actually, one of the moderators there named Tank, has PM'ed me with helpful
info, though I seldom see any of them help anyone on the forum itself. Can't
blame them though. There are some major wankers over there.

That's great!! I'd love to get together with everyone. My best
availability on May 5th looks like evening. Dinner maybe?
I'm playing with a rock band that night at a bar that serves food. Or
maybe it's a restaurant that servers drinks. So one possibility would be
to meet there for dinner. We start playing at 9pm.

Because we can, and we should. For me it's about making a trip up to meet
all these dudes I've known over the net for years but never had the
priviledge to have met in person.
It'll be a cool hang.

d hang out with friends. . I had a feeling that
the working musicians would be gigging on Saturday night. I wouldn't have a
problem reschedulling this for a weekend where you and John were free. I
know Dedric also has some weekend things that would require some advance
notice. I'll likely be driving up on a Friday and spending the night in
Boulder before heading south to Denver. there are some places I want to
visit in/around Boulder, but that could be *any* Friday.
Is there a time/date that would work so everyone could get together?

agreement with this undefined standard.
And then, to top it off, you refer me to a book that says essentially that
boys are in trouble and need to be raised differently!
From my post of 4/17/2007 1:58 AM: "Instead of thwarting their natural
aggression and energy, we should teach them to channel it into creative,
constructive activity."
From Christina Hoff Sommers' book The War Against Boys: "No one denies that
boys' aggressive tendencies must be checked and channeled in constructive
ways. Boys need discipline, respect, and moral guidance. Boys need love and
tolerant understanding."
Gosh, is it my imagination, or is there a similarity in those two
assertions?
Regarding "The raising of boys plays no role in the issue of crazy mass
murderers. Surely you know this by now?" . . . Are we talking about planet
Earth here? Third from the sun? Mostly water, kinda pretty? Are you
seriously going to deny that there are any cultural influences contributing
to school shootings, gang violence, gay bashings, the "going postal"
phenomenon, etc? Next you'll deny the relationship of childhood abuse to
violent behavior.
And what's with this huge button on "allowing boys to cry"? Jeez, get over
it. People cry. It's an emotional response. Doesn't make a man less
manly.
"No one denies that boys' aggressive tendencies must be checked and

might deny that . . .

Did you see the front page of the New York Times? The picture of that
psycho idiot pointing his two pistols? And I assume you've seen the ad
nauseum airplay his pathetic video on our so-called "news media." When I
said I was attacking a culture that makes heros of killers, that's exactly
what I was talking about, and exactly what I was expecting. Perhaps I
should have used the word "murderers" to avoid confusion with righteous,
kick-ass tough guys who "protect the weak" by killing the bad guys.
Where are the Mongol Hordes when we really need them?

s an utter mystery to me, as it is to all men.
I sure as heck can help them make sense of men though, and I
can try to be honorable so they will look for that trait in a husband.

As there are between any individual and most any book at some point
or another. The book strongly critques the negative effects of feminism
on the raising and lives of boys. Agree, or are you just mining quotes?
She sees it as I do, that it is not a zero-sum game, but that power given
to women is not taken from men, and that the raising of the quality of
women's lives does not require the denigration of men. Agree?
>Regarding "The raising of boys plays no role in the issue of crazy mass
>murderers. Surely you know this by now?" . . . Are we talking about planet
>Earth here? Third from the sun? Mostly water, kinda pretty? Are you

I see, so the raising of boys is like abuse, but not as far on the same
scale?
Ever notice that the same cultural influences affect boys
radically differently? Some bash gays and some stand up and defend
them? Did you ever notice how much really good raising of boys there
is going on? Maybe only a few people need to change their rearing
methods. Perhaps you simply need to amend your statement to a
gender-neutral one? Perhaps a giant social engineering project (gee
aren't we just starting to see the folly of the last one?) isn't really what
is
needed at all, and might make things worse, regardless of our intentions?
And there are, and will be, the organically insane,
and the just plain evil that exist as well.
I can see no excuse for saying that an entire society needs to change
the way they raise boys in the context of this mass murder. I think it
is a terrible slander.
>And what's with this huge button on "allowing boys to cry"? Jeez, get over
>it. People cry. It's an emotional response. Doesn't make a man less
>manly.
A good remale response. Actually, sometimes it does. Sometimes a man
has to not cry, and do the hard thing to save a life. Sometimes a man
and a woman too, has to stop crying and be a sheepdog and go fight
some wolves. Men are generally physically and emotionally stronger
and it falls to us to get out of bed and go deal with the asshole who
broke in downstairs and the cops are 30 minites away... I respect women
in the extreme who can defend themselves effectively, but they are at the
far end of the bell curve. For men, we must know when not to cry, and
our standards will different from women's. If I had a son, I would let
him know the difference, and I absolutely would not let him cry when
he needs to get the job done. See, I don't even care if you agree. It's
none
of your damn business. You will never understand. A woman telling
men how to live and how to feel ends up with something like a caricature
of a man because she is clueless. Same for men telling women how to
behave. We men just make asshats of ourselves when we do that and
some of us finally figgered it out. Your turn.
>"No one denies that boys' aggressive tendencies must be checked and
>channeled in constructive ways." Well, Christina, I know this one guy who
>might deny that . . .
And every father of a boy that I know does exactly that, but in the
way of men, not women, and no one should ever slander those good
fathers by saying what you said in the context of mass murder.
Blame it on Cho, not on men, not on society, not on Judas Priest, and
not on how we raise boys.
Now read the rest of the book please. It's quite good.

I bought what is basically a Mojave MA-200 and a Baby Bottle from Neil. I
don't have the same range of experience that Neil does with high end mics
(One doesn't need much to get a Prophet 10 into a DAW) but I can back up
his description on those two mics. The MA style mic is tubey and round sounding
without being fuzzy and the Baby Bottle is the best effin male vocal mic
I've ever been around. I really don't know why Neil sold it. The band I'm
in has three male vocalists. We initially were planning on using the MA for
the lead vox and the Baby Bottle for the backing vox but might use just the
BB for everything. It's also not a one trick pony, it's great anywhere you
want something that sounds solid state (in a good, fast way) and bright but
not hyped.

The prototype/kit one you have is actually a bit cleaner (IMO)
anyway) than the production model MA-200... also the -200 is
just a teensy bit "scooped" - those two mics are indeed very
close in sound, though.

Because I had two, remember? I've never found an occasion to use
them as a stereo pair, and so I figured I could let one go...
I'm keeping the other one.

Ah, that's right. Just for kicks I put it above a drum kit and didn't like
it at all, so I agree, I can't think of a place where I'd want two.
You should get a thank you on the Monkies album.

Hi Tom,
You email continues bouncing back.
I have sent you the Paris exe but it was sent back.
Let me know of a another email address.
Regards,
DimitriosThey might want to demo mics by Peluso, the cheaper new Telefunkens, and
possibly Microtech Gefell. Maybe talk to http://atlasproaudio.com/ or
Mercenary to see what they'd suggest? I really recommend trying before
buying.

It's amazing what a little paint can do.

trying that.......though I guess I should, just so I can pretend to be some
sort of authority on the differences in Chinese cardioid capsules.

This is only Paris exe.
It will open your default project so there will be no change whatesoever
on the way your Paris is opening.
What I would do ,always as a safety.
Make a folder inside your Paris folder called "backup" and copy your
Paris exe there.
Then just overwrite my Paris exe on your.
This is depaced already.
Let me know how it goes and if you like waht you see !!

The vst is not a must but I believe will help somehow in stability.
See if you have any problems the way you are and if not just leave it
the way you are.
Regarding Macro, NO, I could not figure out as how to work with it.
Maybe if you have time sometime make a reay 4 submix macrofile that can
run on XP.
I have one monitor ,so that "should" be for one monitor.
You know , I would like an instant mixer1 ,mixer2,...4 , edit1,2,3,4
aut1,2,3,4,
Patchbay, Globalmix, and maybe some tip windows ,scrolling things from
you added maybe...
I use a monitor with 1280x960 pixel
Hope this helps ...
Thanks !!
Regarding waves
http://www.xlutop.com/buzz/zip/shell2vst.zip
Download this put it on your waves directory , you know Programfiles/waves
and copy it where the waveshells are.
Then drag each waveshell one at atime over it and it will produce the
vst versions of waves !!
Drag these to your vst directory...
Let mke know how it goes.
Regarding Paris exe as a\I emailed before don't worry just copy your exe
in a new folder called backup and overwrite your with mine.
If it goes wrong (I don't see why) or you don't like it just copy again
what you have in "backup" folder and overwrite it to go back as where
you were...
