basically an afterthought. (My personal thoughts on this are that this is
why the card to card sync cables are on the daughterboard, not the main PCI
card). Once Ensoniq was gone, and Emu came into the picture even less was
really known about the product. When the whole Emu/Creative thing came into
play, most of the original (if not all) teams to design and understand had
been either fired or left employ, and many data sheets mysteriously
disappeared. It's quite conceivable that they just didn't know how to handle
the first/last card issue.

Good observation about the daughterboard, that would explain a lot.
As far as disappeared - my experience is that stuff that "disappears"
during corporate transitions can suddenly and miraculously "reappear",
sometimes with nobody having any idea at all where it came from. :D
Not hinting at anything, but definitely keeping my ears open.
- KerryI've done an XP + paris re-install on my mac pro, and am now getting
this error.
The title of the window is DBERR!!
"vcd_Open: failed to lock process gestalt memory!!"
After that I get an unhandled exception, and it crashes.
I'm not sure if it's related to the dual core, the expansion chassis or
Paris.
Anyway, it seems these errors are shouting at me, but I'm not sure what
they are yelling.. can anyone shed some light on what this means?
Cheers,
TCI'm just redoing everything over again after reformatting the d

rive.
I found my old Drive Image 7 cd, so I think first I'll install windows
and my bootcamp drivers, then do the windows security updates maybe and
ghost the whole thing so I don't have to keep reformatting if I screw it up.
When I had got Paris running on this the other day, I had done the XP
updates first before installing all the paris software etc. (I don't
think I did the XP service packs), so I'm thinking maybe not doing that
this time was contributing to the errors..
Cheers,
TC

Huh??? Bizarre!
- KTed -
The studio looks like it will be a nice space to work and play. Keep
the progress photos coming.
FWIW, I lived in Toronto growing up. We live in 3 apartments off Yonge
Street. First at Sherbourne and Wellesley, the second just south of
Yonge and St. Clair, and finally just north of Yonge and Eglinton. I
lived there from '68 - '74 and attended grades 3 thru 9. My father
taught at UT and retired from there in the early 80s.

Beautiful, striking space!
OK, I just renovated my one-car garage to be a studio here in Vancouver.
*Major* envy here :D

Hi TC,
You're seeing this error because you are using a debug build of the PSCL.
I've seen this, too. It means that the scherzo was turned down by Windows
for enough memory to create the buffer that the App uses to talk to the hardware.
Have you locked all Scherzo drivers plus all drivers that share an IRQ with
the scherzo drivers to the highest number CPU?
That's where I would start. I've attached the inaffinity tool and a tutorial
on how to use it to this message. I hope it helps. Let me know.
All the best,
Mike
