Some mutations which identify family groups did not originate in Africa,
so cannot be traced there. It looks like all humans came from Africa,
but all haplogroups did not. My group started where everyone elses did,
but all the mutations show the family staying there and around the
Mediterranian.
Today, our group
is only 20% of Italians, but is more than 75% of North Africans, and there
are earlier mutations still found in Ethiopia as well.
50% of all Chinese men came from one guy, and their group does not
link (yet) to Africans as many others do not.
As more and more people participate, the roadmap and history of
the families gets clearer.

Because there are 5% M35 (my haplogroup) in the british isles from
the Roman occupation, it is quite possible for a bigot of say, Irish
descent, to have more in common genetically with the object of his

Has anyone else noticed that since Korea we never seem to get involved
in a war unless they produce lots of drugs there? Hmmm. And we just
can't seem to win them either, even though we overpower them about 100

DCHi,
I have an Ensoniq ASR-10 on its way, and was considering this software as
a partner for it at some point. I'm quite comfortable with the idea of using
the ASR on its own, bus the ability to do sample editing and the rest on
PC, and have complete compatibility with every sample format, seems fairly
tempting to say the least.
Has anybody played with this stuff? Thoughts?
It's only $200... seems a bargain...

out of gas he would see them put the garden hose down in to their tanks.
So I guess the owner deserved what he got. There were also many reports
on the news of people getting bad gas from Citgo stations all over town.
Needless to say, I never buy gas at Citgo. What a PITA! If you want to
buy your gas from them that's up to you.
When possible I will avoid buying Communist made products. And yes I am
aware of where some of my favorite products are made. I don't like it.

been more focused or learning Cubase than listening to Cubase.
We are recording the Vox over those Nylon guitars this morning and I noticed
something last night while settings up and doing an equipment check....There
is very noticable phasing on the mic
thru the monitoring headphones.
I got a 3ms latency.
I thought man...am I hearing that? So I bumped the buffers down as far as
they can go..to 1ms..I could still hear it just the same. So that cant be
it.
I set my buffers back to 3ms.
I noticed some popping too which turned out to be my presonus wasnt clock
locked to my motu. After I clock locked it no more pops. Which brings me
to another part of the quest...
Initially I was running the mic thru the Presonus--ADAT out---Motu I thought
maybe the Presonus is doing this....so I plugged directly to the Motu and
same thing.
I tried using the Motu as the master clock and the presonus as the master
clock.
No change.
I twiddled with every setting I could find in Cubase that looked related
and no change.
I tried different microphones.
No change.
It sounds like there are two identical signals being sent to the main outs/headphones.
I thought hmmm maybe the Direct monitoring was some how enabled... But it
was disabled and I opened Cue Mix and disabled the main outs just in case
and closed it again.
No change.
I am sarting to think the Motu is defective.
I tried opening a new project and adding an audio track so I was sure there
was no processing...No Change.
It is very noticable on the headphones.
Not as noticable during playback, but I swear I can hear artifacts of it
on recorded vocal material.
Does anyone have a clue what this might be?

really I don't), I think he's great. More importantly, I wanted to say that
if you didn't see his friday show with PJ O'Rourke and Ben Affleck, you
should scour your HBO schedule for the repeats just to catch special guest

section of American conservatism, and I think it's sad that conservatives

What you'll find is that while your father's side might think of themselves
as 'all Scandinavians' they almost certainly aren't. We're talking thousands

There are two main kinds of testing being done in this sort of research.
The maternal lines are traced using mitochondrial DNA, which is inherited
exclusively from our mothers and in theory should never change at all. mtDNA
was the first to be used in this ancient human history research, so the process
is more refined and the results are more agreed upon in the literature. Y
chromosome DNA is (obviously) only found in men. Since it's not supposed
to be an exact copy like mtDNA it's a richer source of genetic information
but for technical reasons that are beyond me it's harder to work with and
there is much more scholarly argument about the results.

They were kind of a fusion band mainly, & had live drums on

Check under your "device setup" menu in Cubase, is it possible
you've got the wrong driver selected? IOW you're using the MOTU
as your main niterface, but you've got a generic Windows ASIO
driver picked as the master (so it's passing sound, but not in
sync).
I would start there, then check all the other settings
under "devices" & related stuff.

I noticed you mentioned something like: "forget MIDI" amongst
other things... what's wrong wih the MIDI? I use MIDI a LOT in
