I an running 2 EDS cards so what is was thinking was to 8 out on
one card and 8 out on the other, but I would think there would
be an easier way.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx Dominicwww.tomshardware.com, where brainwashed, braindamaged, reactionary M$oft/Debian
types like me go to find out what's happening in the wonderful world of computer
hardware, has a story about the new Macs.
http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/01/12/how_different_are_the_new_ intel-based_macs/
It includes interesting things about the chipset (looks like 945), the EFI
question (doesn't look like much of an issue), and some discussion about
the hardware end. The bottom line is that putting XP or GNU\Linux on your
Intel box from Apple will be trivial. Some brainwashed moron around here
mentioned probably as simple as changing the bootloader, and it appears he's
right, amazing enough considering that he drools out of one side of his mouth
most of the time and when he sees a car he points to it and yells "machine
horsie" to his home care specialists. Getting OS X running on your home brew
PC, though, looks trickier. Getting the core OS to boot is probably just
an issues of an afternoon of assembly programming by a top programmer to
convince OS X that it's booting on the right hardware, but after that we
get into questions of drivers and such and things get murkier. We should
have that machine horsie guy check into it a little more, but if he stops
throwing his oatmeal at the wall and soiling his Depends long enough to i

I did it all the time in my previous setup, but I used ADAT optical as my
interface. It adds very little additional latency or CPU strain, unlike WormHole.
You can try WormHole for free.

PS Can you take a sysex dump of some of your hardware effects? This saves
a lot of documentation time for me – Or using program changes in my sequencer.
(I know this wont help with the non-MIDI stuff, but documentation is so ‘Old
School”:-)I've had both the pedal version and the rack mount. I wound up switching to
the Moog for live and the native for recording.
Another hardware unit to look at, Deej, though everyone will look at you
funny and people around here might sniff, is the Electrix MoFX. Easy to work
with as tap tempo delays and two in mono might be cool because you'd never
tap them quite exactly the same tempo.

Anyone have any opinions or advice?Seems like theres lots of
options here.
TIA,
PeteCell phones can be a great thing. But really, there are only three times
that I absolutely need one:
1. I'm at the grocery store and can't remember what my girlfriend wanted me
to pick up.
2. My car is broke down.
3. I'm lost and need directions.
Otherwise, cell phones are just another way to make my day more busy than it
needs to be. Ultimately, cell phones, and email, and phone message machines
take me away from the second most important thing in my life: making music.
On the PDA thing. I had one, once, and I suppose that for some, they're
very very helpful. But, I find a good ol paper calender, tons easier to
use... along with my quill pen and ink.

devices work on
Windows, Mac OS Everything, and even on GNU\Linux systems. Palm devices are
also pretty easy to use. The phone in the Treo series is also very nice.
If you want pure mobile email and sync to desktop scheduling with a decent
phone a Blackberry might be another option. Personally I'd recommend staying
away from the Windows mobile devices.
To me the Treo is the best compromise between having a pretty damn good phone,
decent email device, and a Palm PDA. Also, you can get a memory card upgrade
and listen to those newfangled MP3 things ;-)
TCB
P.S. Depending on what state you live in you might want to get a Bluetooth
headset. In CT where I live it's illegal to talk on a cell phone while driving,
so a BT device is almost a necessity.

Gene, Actually my problem is getting Paris hardware to show up in the
Wavelab Preferences dialog box. I'll give what you said a try, nevertheless.
Thanks.
Tonehouse,
In my experience in the past, you do not have to have Paris running for
Wavelab to use the MEC outputs. In fact, I don't think can use both
applications running at the same time.
Lamont,
I agree with you about just throwing in the towel and buying another card.
To be honest, the only reason I'm trying to get Paris to work with Wavelab
again is to save myself a few bucks and not buy another card.
Does anyone have any suggestions what would be a good quality (and low-cost,
if that exists anywhere) soundcard with converters on par with the Paris
converters?
Thanks again,
Edric

Pick up the MAudio Audiophile2496 its only 99.00 and sound and works
quite good. If you don't want to use the converters on the Maudio just
go out SPDIF into Paris and make a basic Paris project to listen through
Paris' converters.
