Whenever I import a project from another computer that
was running Win 98, I have distortion on track five
of Submix 1. Always. Can't stop it with trim, fader
or anything. It just breaks up badly. If I move the audio
to another track it's fine.
Tonight I was doing quick ruff mixes and I was hearing
what sounded exactly like clocking issues. I only heard
it once while tracking for five hours. On playback/mixdown
it was 5-10 times per song! I switched to internal clock,
different clock rate, unplugged the Lucid... no go, kept
hearing those annoying clicks. After an hour of rebooting to
start the clocking correctly (in all fashions) I decided to start
soloing tracks. It turns out to be the bass track 'clicking'.
I moved it to another channel on the submix I wanted and the clicking
went away. It was on channel 6 this time though?!?
Oddly enough, on playback of the mixes from CD I don't hear any
of the clicking! I did mix all the songs with it since they were ruffs
to determine which tracks to keep. All the while I was dreading having
to tell an 11 piece band to come back on my dime.
Paris feature? Ahh, who cares!
I choose Polesoft Lockspam to fight spam, and you?

If you say it works great in win98 that doesn't sound like an 8in hardware
issue.

plugs, re-install it from the 4.3 exe (it will create the "Powered Plugs"

clear out the wrapper and make it re-find the plugs. I'd bet that will cure
it. I'd leave the SSL talkback comp out of the equation till you get the
UAD stuff working 100%.

I never mic the bottom head of toms or the snare - tried the
snare bottom mic thing in a few instances a long time ago & never
really liked it so I quit doing it - I think you can get plenty
of the sound of the snares themselves just by positioning the
top mic near the rim... especially if you're on a floor surface
that's reflective, as opposed to carpeted.
NeilI've never had much success with bottom micing either... always seem
to get what I need with well placed top mics.
David.

problem in the atmosphere. Also, smoking is good for you.
Some of the same flacks have been involved in both disinformation
efforts, according to:
"For years, a network of fake citizens' groups and bogus scientific
bodies has been claiming that science of global warming is inconclusive.
They set back action on climate change by a decade. But who funded them?
Exxon's involvement is well known, but not the strange role of Big

Unfortunately, a certain number of people will believe them. Because
it's comforting to think there's no problem. Light up and be healthy!
Don't worry about inefficient cars and dirty coal plants, they are
all-natural, practically organic!
Profits are up, it's all good, nothing to see here. Pay no attention to

I have been using the Tranzport with Cubase (no fader) and have yet to =

Frontier Designs have great products here though.

To be quite honest, I'm no pro mixer and need one for a documentary I'm
scoring. Ordinarily I would and could do it myself and be just fine.
However, I want to take this to a different level for "my reel". Do
you know of anyone around here, or there, that's Paris savvy and really
good? What about you?
Hope this post isn't inappropriate for where the NG is at these days.
Thanks, Jim

We have a bit of a DJ-esque set-up here. I am currently tracking to
Nuendo (and soon PTHD) and using Paris as stem summing for 44/48
sessions. Any of the 96K stuff is mixed in the respective program
(not that I have actually done any 96K stuff yet). I fond that
summing in Paris helps glue the mix together. Once we get HD in the
fray things may change somewhat.
David.

Thanks
RobIf only it were out before January...I could use this now. Looks cooler
than FaderPort, and seems to have a better feature set.

Back then I have tried hard working with wormhole and I posted all my findings
here.
Anyway wormhole works with Paris ONLY if it will be wrapped from FXpansion
3.3
Only with that it can be fully SYNCED, period.
I tried all possible combinations and wrappers.
It is marvelous and I managed 24 audio tracks on a 2.6 GHZ pc with XP.
It does not support millenium or win98 but may work.

bit as good as anything getting radio airplay in 1964.
I wish I could be in Ft. Worth right now. All my old musician buddies are
there today at the funeral and they've been sending me e-mails. I send one
of them an MP3 of one of Macle's tunes. They loved it. That's the genre we
were all into back then and still love. It's great to see that there are
folks who are still influenced by these beautiful melodic
Lennon/MaCartney/George Martin'esque songwriting/ production ideas, are
keeping them alive and taking them to a new level.

Bad to hear clients continue to fall for the digi thing. Awfully glad I
don't have to deal with that. Never the less, I
hope the switch does well by you.

DJ, I am a big L&M fan (who isn't?) but have never heard of these songs.
Is there any way to purchase a copy, even if only an MP3?
ThanksOkay. I've worked many hours with 1 EDS card in any of the four PCI slots.
Putting my little kit of 4 EDS cards back in immediately hoses the system.
Which seems weird, since 1 EDS card works perfectly in any slot.....
Anyway, what's my next move? I would love to have a 4-card system, but would
be satisfied with 3. Anything less would be a bad thing.
Got the skinny on the IRQs:
PCI bridge - (blank)
USB controller - 10
USB controller - 11
USB controller - 5
USN controller - 3
USB controller - 10
PCI Bridge - (blank)
IDE - (blank)
Ethernet - 4
SerialBus controller - 10
Bridge VGA - 10
Slot-1 Media device - 6 (this is the EDS card, I assume)
JimmyVery cool!
Does he post here?
respect

>DCHey guys I got the following in my comp.
Can anyone tell me what is the required power supply
wattage I should have?
I think I have 450 or 500 now.
It does this funny thing where I push the power button
and it turns on for a split second and then shuts off.
After that it doesnt respond at all until I either
unplug it and plug it back in or trip the main power switch.
Then I it will do the same thing again when I push the power button. I do
this about 10 times before it will stay on.
Any Ideas???
This is my main audio comp and this really pisses me off since it is only
a few months old.
TIA
