That's the way I understood his question anyway.
He could run OSX on the DP machine, but the performance might not be great
on an older G4.

Anyway, I like the 828 MkII Firewire interface. The pre amps are pretty
clean and they have a decent amount of gain available. Actually, the 828 is
my "no color" pre amp right now. I've got 16 channels of Trident ixOne, an
HHB Fat Man II, and an Aphex 107, but they all are pretty "colorful" pres.
Until I can afford a Great River, Gracie, True Systems, etc., the 828 will
cover things.

MOTU's new UltraLite interface looks pretty nice also.

>Hi Tony,

Yes, you're right - My thought is to run Paris on my new DP 1.25 gHz G4 in
OS 9.2.2 ans Digital Performer on my old 833 mHz G4. I'm hoping to be able
to use the Waves IR-L reverb and some of the UAD-1 plugins (like the Neve
EQ!!!) in real time. Is the latency of the 828 MkII low enough to pull that
off? I figure there'll be issues w/ the UAD-1 FX, since the card has it's
own latency issues. I can't understand how DJ manages to make it all work
in real time on his system!

Thanks,

Gantt

Have you been doing any crossfades?

I would bet on your paris.cfg file needing optimizing.
C:\program files\ensoniq\paris\paris.cfg

This is what mine is set to:

*** PARIS Configuration ***

*** ENGINE configuration parameters ***
* Cache Size in MB
CacheSize=128

* Overview cache size in KB
OvwCacheSize=8192

* I/O configuration
IOSize=256

* SubMix Cache Size in KB
SubMixCacheSize=256

ManualRecDelay=4096

RecXFadeLen=20
Use32BitWinMTC=0

DisableDirectX=0

MasterOutputCard=0

ScrubMaxRate=1

WheelSensitivity=20

WheelInertia=68

CSProVersion=ABCDEFGH

VSTDirectory=C:\vsts\

MIDIPlayDisabled=1Also,

Try resetting the record path to a new empty folder.
Or if you are on the Mac and running anything before OS 9 you may have
run out of open files (MacOS limit). If this is the case try clearing
unused files from the audio window.

I haven't done this in years. I have the authorization codes.
Where do I input them? Do I need to install new software

I'm talking about MEQ-5 and the Cambridge EQ.

UAD sent me an email stating that Paris was not supported...
I know that?!?! Arghh. But why can't they answer my question

system??

thanks.

jerYou should be able to search in Outlook Express, but in any case it's pretty
much beyond my ability to control. Once you have the posts on your NNTP client,
it's up to the client to search the posts. I'm pretty sure Outlook Express
can do it though, but if you can't, don't be afraid to switch to web mode
to search. The web search works on my server.

As for your actual question, this diagram may help. It's the 4 card version,
but hopefully you can see the pettern and revert back to three cards...

I actually went to Full Sail in Orlando to get a degree
in recording engineering back in 88 when studios still
had large format consoles and 2" 24 track tape decks.
That's what I learned on which is why I got into Paris.
Loved the analogish sound and console like GUI. Full
Sail changed quite a bit during the 90's. They started
cranking out graduates and expanding into all kinds of
areas that have nothing to do with a recording studio. In
any case, I eventually went back to school to get a 4 year
engineering degree and a real job.

I'd love to have a Paris get together one of these days.
Just let me know where and when and I'll make it if
at all possible.

peace,
T.Rossi

T.,
Ya, I graduated in '79 in performance. Guitar was my major but
I played some alto too. I really liked the writing classes with
Herb Pomeroy, Mike Gibbs and Phil Wilson. I had Ralph Moore
from the Tonight Show Band in my senior recital band. Those
were the days when Berklee had one 8 track studio only. I only
had a few classes in there. That was not important to me at
the time. They had just built the Performance Center.

I spent a few summers in Champagne/Urbana at the jazz camps
at U of I. Very cool college town down there. If you're ever heading
towards the Cape or RI, feel free to stop in. It'd be great to meet
another Paris user. I met Ben Atkins a year

------=_NextPart_000_0072_01C6C77B.B31D1410--Indeed it was a bad day.

I saw Maynard in 1980 with my high school jazz band. It was a great show.
Gonna Fly Now.

Bad day.

I choose Polesoft Lockspam to fight spam, and you?
http://www.polesoft.com/refer.htmlHe was a great drummer and one of my favorites. I met him a few times he
was a real nice guy. I asked him why he no longer played with the Knack,
He told me that Doug Figer, Attorney Jeffery Figer's brother, had cheated
him out of the money. He felt that he wrote the signature drum parts, some
of the song parts and that he should have been compensated fairly. They
cut him out, he had no royalties, he was never paid any residuals, and they
replaced him. Doug Figer ask him to come back to play with the Knack several
times. Bruce said he would come back if Doug would Pay him fairly for his
contribution to the Knack and acknowledgment for contributing to the song
writing, Doug refused. Bruce told me that he didn't think that he would
be playing with the knack ever again.

I'm sad to hear about Bruce's passing.

band when I got to play a drum solo in the song Gonna Fly Now, the Rocky
theme song. It was fun playing thet stuff.
