guitar effect pedal on a whim of sorts a short while back. Here's where the
project lies at this point: So far, I am impressed with most aspects and a
little put out at others with the phase pedal kit... more to come.....
I'm going to finish it up hopefully during the next week and I'll finalize
my thoughts on tone and options and overall project evaluation.
For those not sure, the circuit layout is clean (pic 1) and yes... I use my
toaster oven to bake the paint (pic 2) :)

Oops. I suppose it'd be good to actuallt type in a response!
I drive my NS-10M's w/ a Bryston 4B (250 watts/side). I seldom use them,
preferring my old Tannoy SGM 10B's, but I have to admit that the NS-10M's
are great for checking the stereo image. Where the Tannoys sometimes seem
a little hazy in the center the NS-10's are rock solid. They're good for
checking relationships in the mix (especially vocals), but I still love
my Tannoys. My real secret weapon, however, is my JVC PC-V2 Boombox w/ Hyper
Bass. No mix leaves without passing the boombox test at high, low and very
low volumes. I have another in case this one dies, but if they both kick
the bucket I may have to retire!

I just got back from a weekend in Joliet, IL at the Indy Car race...
This exchange was EXACTLY what I needed to read before I fall asleep
in my chair.
Fortunatley, no beverages were harmed during the reading of this

pabHey DC
My initial hunt for headphones included the Grado SR 325, Sennheiser HD650
the AKG K701 (a friend had a pair I checked out) and the Beyer 770's (I
think) and a pair of Sony something or other (sorry can't remember)
Now while I was auditioning the Grados I asked to hear the RS-1's, what a
huge difference, like night and day compared to the SR 325's...and the 325s
were nothing to sneeze at either. So I reluctantly handed the RS-1s back to
the saleman and said to myself "If I can in anyway afford a pair I'm buying
them" ....Remember in Canada the RS-1s list for a $999 or so and that was
just too much for my pocketbook so I resigned myself to the fact that the
RS-1's would not be in my immediate future and I continued the hunt of more
affordable headphones.
Now don't get me wrong the above mentioned headphones were all excellent
head phones (with slight differences between them) and after all my
listening tests were done I decided the HD 650's were the headphones for me
