for just a 2 track mix i'd go with lynx.
but get the one with 6 in and 2 out.
if you want to more than just mix out.
but be aware that they make the 22.
it's something cheaper and may be just for you.
i've been using them for years.
if you can demo one just listen to your ears.

Well, interestingly enough, the C-16 was the easiest thing to deal with.
(Simplisitically, you just open up a serial port and send and receive
information. Of course, convincing your application to know what to do with
that information is something completely different...) There's a second
serial port you use for controlling the other hardware - routing signals to
the MEC ports, etc. I never did finish reverse engineering the EDS effects
subsystem...

Yeah, it will help if I win the lottery and have enough money to quit the
day job... ('course, ya gotta PLAY the lottery before you can win it...!)
What really takes my time is the kids. I've got a 15 year old who plays
club soccer year round, and basketball, volleyball and track (pole vault and
discus) seasonally. I've also got a 12 year old who plays soccer and
baseball and wants to play football. The 15 year old is in calculus, AP
biology, AP English, etc, and the 12 year old just got a first place award
at our science and engineering fair...
I've also got a couple projects going on that take a bit of my own time. I
bought a panel making business last year, so I spend time in the shop
machining front panels for synths then painting and silkscreening them. I'm
also now the lead developer for vSigX, the OS X program that edits Eventide
Harmonizer effects units. I've got the next release scheduled for the end
of April - that will be here RSN. And I have to build a new web site for
that too...
And of course, my religious, philosophy and psychology studies continue - at
some point, I'll be faced with the decision to drop all this "worldly" stuff
and become a full time minister/roshi/counselor...

>>Hi Doug,
I've got to tell you that your posts appear a bit optimistic. You and I
both know that there's no way in hell that anyone is going to write a driver
that will use paris hardware, mac, pc or linux :-)
It requires the intersection of infinite time, infinite passion and infinite
unbearable long distance testing because no one I know of (at least any more)
has enough paris hardware to test all the possible permutations.

I'm saying that it will never in a million years happen.
And as to the question of hardware, unless you have 8 mecs, 8 eds cards,
16 8ins, 16 8outs, 16 adat cards and assorted 442s and IF2s laying around,
you can't possibly test the various permutations of hardware.
