he edges and certain things cause instant crashes. For example, trying to open its driver control panel, probably because that hasn't been written yet. Very Happy

drivers from mike. every one of them do completely different shit but only 1 will actually boot paris and it encounters a problem at shutdown and wont save anything. this Fn sucks. I give up. trying to run paris is ruining my business.Hi
I'm in the process of purchasing all the components to put together my new system.
I got a MEC on ebay
a EDS1000 card and controller card.
also some in and out cards for the MEC.

Now i have a new DELL precision 9600 and i heard theEDS1000 card won't fit in these as it needs a 5V slot.
2 questions..

1. Ack.. does this mean i need a Magma system and still use my dell .. magma are quite expensive! Can i use an old G4 or G5 mac system? that would be cheaper that magma chassis.

2. And where can I purchase the software for windows?

Help appreciated..
forums are great! You can use an old Mac G4 running OS 9.2.2, but that's the latest iteration of Mac that will work for Paris.

The Paris Software is platform neutral, runs on Mac (OS9) or Win ME, XP and shortly (now for some) on 7.

o everyone and thank you all for keeping this site and paris alive. Also want to thank Mike for the great effort.I bought a new sandy bridge pc and want to get rid of most old 32 bit stuff.The only driver i'm missing is for paris to run complete system 64 bits.I'm checking this forum every day anxiously waiting for Mike to do a miracle..best luck!!Hi thanks. There are 2 MEC expansion slots available.Wow Jim, this is totally cool, what a great idea.

asio drivers is another thing that'd be great but since it's presumed dead for a long time now, it's really amazing that Mike who must be a hard core passionist is still losing nights over it.His work is sure worth a lot more for the stuff he developed.
belive me,many big corporations should learn from him and such enthusiasts how to respect their customers..I second that! Wholeheartadly!!
Would the motorized fader box include transport controls and such? How would it behave across multiple submixes?

mmyJust bought Mike's reverbs, trying to get them installed. There's something missing from the text, it seems. I think the red x's should be the blue text, copied and pasted, right?

Here's the install instructions:

Installing plugins on windows 98/ME:

Copy the dll and ini files to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Ensoniq\PlugIns

Installing plugins on Windows XP:

1) Copy the dll and ini files to C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ensoniq\PlugIns
2) Add the path to the plugins to the system path.

Right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties"
Go to the advanced tab, and click on "Environment Variables"
Find the variable called "Path" in the "System Variables" box and double click on it.
Type a semicolon at the end of the list in the box that appears, and then paste in the path to the plugins folder, like so: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Click OK, and another OK, and start up PARIS!Jim,

lock of your RME card to Paris and slave to Paris' clock ?
I have just got a digi9652 (limited to running on 32bit sadly)
as my Pulsar cards just weren't playing ball, so it's new territory for me.
I did also ask Mike Audet if it might be possible at some point to stream audio in/out of Paris via his new drivers in some way - perhaps using something like Jack Audio which already routes Asio between other asio applications and hardware...
However that's probably a lot of work...and for now I'll be focussing on enjoying the super new drivers. Smile

I am still using XP 32bit but the ASIO is much needed to work Paris hardware with Cubase 5...
Any update regarding the current status of your work if any progress ??

to disk? If so I would learn to compensate in the mix. Does one typically need to learn to compensate in the mix for the effects that mixing down tends to have on the sound? I would think that the less eq needed in mastering the better?
