change that I'm hoping people can test is the issue where some
people got an error on start-up that said something to the effect that a
common buffer couldn't be created.
I modified the code so that if an attempt to allocate a common buffer fails,
it will:
1) try again up to 100 times.
2) If that doesn't work, it will sleep for 20 milliseconds and then try one
last time.
Hopefully this will clear it up. I can only reproduce the error if I try
to launch PARIS when windows has displayed the desktop but is really still
in the process of starting up (before the hard disk thrashing is done).
I just launched it under these conditions, and it worked fine.
I'll post this in the project forum, too.
Here are the installation instructions:
the PARIS_StudioControlLibrary.dll goes in the Windows\System32 folder.
be sure to back up the copy your using currently just in case.
The Scherzo.sys goes in Windows\System32\drivers\. Be sure to back up your
current scherzo, too.
All the best,
Mike
