It is not a card. It is stand alone unit that connects to a computer via
2 - 9 pin "D" type connectors. An in and out. It also has an in and out
for MIDI.

Since I got my MacBook Pro, Lucy, back in October, she's become my
main computer for most daily tasks. I have the XP machine here for a
few things yet, especially since I haven't found an OSX newsreader
that works just like Agent, which I've been using for so long I can't
imagine using anything else.
However, my main computer at home is a dual-1GHZ G4 that also serves
as file server for the house, as well as iTunes jukebox.
I have XP loaded in Parallels on Lucy as well, in addition to an
install of XP under BootCamp. I need the BC install because my
DeLorme usb GPS puck has a signifcant amount of latency when running
under parallels, but works just fine under BC.
However, between BC, Parallels and OSX, I have two fully-functional,
stupid-fast laptops in one shiny package. I love my MBP. A lot. She
goes with us every trip we take, allows me to work on the website I
maintain while sitting upstairs with the wife, and works as a mobile
darkroom with Photoshop.
I may get a copy of Logic Express and a firewire interface and try
some recording on her as well.
I just like the way OSX pretty much figures out what it is you want to
do, even if you're not quire sure, and then just does it for you.

Rod,
Have you read Geoff Emerick's book, "Here, There and Everywhere"?
Also a fascinating read. Dude was there, had the chops and a band who
pushed him, and magic happened.
Wasn't all pretty, though, especially near the end, and he does
discuss personalities and stuff.
If you haven't read it yet, get it.
pabI don't have that one. Thanks for the info.
