Acid. But, its not nearly as "out-of-the-box-easy" as Acid is for working
with loops.
I've been running Acid pro 2.0 for years and have Acid 6.0 on my wish list.
By the way, Acid sync's pretty well via MTC. I've never done any testing to
see how accurate this is, but my ear gave it the nod.

FWIW, I have done extensive loop work over the years, and
have never found anything like ACID. Versions 5 and 6 allow
you to categorize and store loops according to genre or
instrument or any category you choose. It's easier than ever.
Great program, well worth upgrading.

I also paid $1100 for it because if i didnt get it i would have died.
acid 6 is definately worth it.the loop manager alone is worth it. Idont know
if you use vegas at all,but the manager is common with that program as
well.sorting through 300 gigs of loops and hits without it is daunting.
v3 and 4 coexist on your dongle . no Dx in V.4. not sure if you can use DX
with a rewire program . the only one i would want is autotune, but i use
melodyne all the time anyway.

I do this all he time in Cubase sense I think VST 3.6.
Using the object selection tool select the part . Hold the ALT key and
draw it across. If it is an Acidized file. then the tempo should already
be read int he audio pool. I would double check cause some times it
won't be. The play order track is another very cool method also but
haven't gotten into allot so far. If you want to go back and tweak tempo
related info on individual parts then ACID is a little faster. Both
Cubase and ACID aren't as intuitive as Ableton Live for this type of
arrangement IMHO especially if you also want to use non-looped content
and MIDI/VSTi.

But if you're starting to do radio spots, then the next thing
the ad agencies will want from you are tv spots (or at least
the audio portion for tv spots), and so at that point, you will
find you have to have that application, or...

Yeah... I think the bitmap files are the graphics files PARIS needs to load. It might be that
they're corrupted, but it also might be the memory you've allotted to PARIS . First try allocating
more memory to PARIS (you probably know the routine: highlight the app's icon, File -> get info ->
memory -> then type in a much more generous preferred and maximum memory size).
I would sort of think that you've tried that already, so if that doesn't work, you might want
to try a reinstallation. You won't have to worry about PACE reauthorization if you reinstall; just
make sure you've backed up your important settings, and if you have any Skunkworks plugs make sure
you back up your Plugins folder within the Ensoniq folder (which in turn is in your Mac's System
folder). I can't think of anything else right now, but it seems that I've seen this occasionally,
and I'm trying to remember what caused, or seemed to cause, it. I'm working on it though...

OK I think I've got it:
Maybe the problem was having more than one copy of the PARIS application. I think when this
occurs sometimes a project will associate itself with the "wrong" copy of PARIS, and the other copy
of PARIS will look for the bitmap files where it thinks they should be.
This happened to me when I backed up a hard drive that had PARIS installed on it. When I
created a new project-- **even if I had created the project when running PARIS from the original
hard drive**-- the project, when clicked later on, would cause the **new** copy (that is, the
back-up copy) of the PARIS application to open, rather than the original copy of PARIS.
The solution may be to do the following:
1. Make two backups (two, just to be sure) of your Default Project and name them
Defaultppj.bak1 and Defaultppj.bak2, or something like that. Leave them in the PARIS folder along
with the PARIS app so you don't lose them.
2. Double-click your *original* copy of PARIS. Even if you haven't backed it up, might as
well try. Let PARIS open without having double-clicked any projects. It should create a new Default
Project.
If PARIS opens now, close PARIS and trash your *new* Default Project. Now rename one of your
backed-up Default Projects to "Default Project". Double-click on PARIS, and it should open up and
show your Default Project, the way you used to see things when PARIS opened.
OK, now close that project *without* closing PARIS (shift-apple-W). Now open the project you
wanted to open in the first place, from within PARIS (do this by hitting apple-O and, in the dialog
box, navigating to the project you want to open-- don't double-click the project's icon in the
Finder).
If none of that works (if PARIS won't open under any of those circumstances, including
allocating more memory to PARIS) I'd go for a reinstall.
Anyone else have any suggestions? I'm not sure this will help but it's what comes to mind. I
hope it helps at least a bit. Let me know how things turn out!

you're saying about the dogs... one of my dogs (the Collie) is
blind, & as a result, her hearing is probably even more acute
than if she wasn't, and she barks at EVERYTHING! There's a
train that goes around the mountain in Sunland Park, New
Mexico, and those tracks are probably at least 10 or 12 miles
away from my house. The schedule seems to vary a bit, and it's a
pretty busy set of tracks... the trains run past at several
times during the day & evening but the ones at night usually go
by at maybe 11:30 at night, another at about 2:00 in the
morning, and another between 6:00 & 6:30am... the trains have
to sound their horn as they approach the railroad crossing in
Sunland Park, and if it's a still night, I can BARELY hear that
horn - not enough to wake me up if I'm asleep, but the dog of
course hears it no matter what, and naturally has to bark at
it, as if it's some kind of threat she's warding off LOL.
My other dog can see, so he only barks at normal things most
dogs would bark at... like if someone comes to the door, if
there's another dog walking by past the house with it's owner,
things like that. The Collie barks at the train, EVERY siren
(fire truck, ambulances, etc. - there's a fire station a couple
miles away, so every time they get called out, she's off &
barking) bird noises outside, kids playing, you name it. Oh,
and then try having a daughter in college who works at a local
martini bar on the weekends & comes home at 4:00am after they
close down & get done cleaning up (and of course goes out
herself once or twice a week & comes home late); I'm a fairly
light sleeper, so even though she tries to be quiet when she's
coming in, I still wake up most of the time. So, uninterrupted
sleep? I haven't known what THAT is in I dunno how long! LOL

top of me to get warm at around 2:30 so I woke up. Got back to sleep around
3:00 after grabbing the *backup pillow* and negotiating a harmonious
arrangement of sorts with Crash and now I'm up and feeling hung over. So
much for *sleep aids* (can you say dope?). I would have gotten the same
amount of sleep without the drugs and I'd feel better than I do right now.

Don't give up on the Ambien. I'm a lifelong bad sleeper working in a high
stress, long hour career these days. The business travelers in my office
schooled me about Ambien (they use it to reset their clocks as best they
can when they're going NYC -> Chicago -> LA -> Munich -> Sydney in 10 days).
Take a little less, take it earlier or later. It's the one thing I can use
at 11.00 PM when I'm losing my mind to get eight solid hours when I know
I need it.
