Download pdf versions of the Paris manual if you haven't done so, Joe.

Haven't used it for that, but the only problem I could see would be
having to take the computer, mic, etc to the piano. Seems like a
stand-alone tuner might be better if you do that a lot.

Nothing I say will help you right now, but...
I actually stay away from "+" R's for the same reason.
I have had the most luck with Pioneer burners, too, FWIW.
(had Liteon and LG. Neither inspire confidence.)
Also after making a backup, I always copy it back onto my audio drive just
to make sure it will read.
Always burn a little slower than max, and so far Imation and TDK blanks
have never let me down.
Good Luck,

>The RNC is a great little box for the bucks. If you're talking about tracking
thru compressors, I'd say this: I frequently (but not always) track vocals,
bass, guitars and horns thru compressors, usually dbx 160X for vocs, UREI
LA-4's for guitars and bass (although the 160X is nice for them too) and horns,
then RNC (I have 3 of 'em). I never track drums thru compressors! Nor do I
ever gate drums. I would always rather have the un-compressed drum tracks
first, then compress as needed after. In fact, I frequently don't compress
drums, even in the mix...
Just my .02 worth.

Will it come up in safe mode with either optical drive installed? That
could help narrow down the field on where the problem exists.

OEM board and now I'm having to jump through the hoops. I've just about got
this sussed though.........there is, however......plenty of opportunity for
some major pain over the weekend as I attempt to migrate my old HD over to
this new mobo without reformatting an reloading the OS and all of my
software programs.
Due to many similarities that seem to be carried over from older to newer
ASUS boards with VIA chipsets, I've had some previous success with this by
just loading the old system drive and updating the onboard driver sets.
Perhaps there will be minimal wailing, gnashing of teeth, rending of
garments.....etc........but then again.....what would a DAW build be without
at least one major catastrophe? I have a feeling I know exactly at wht stage
of this it will happen, but I'm keeping it s
