So, IOW, it's just like Paris?
:)Dimitrios, thanks for the link, also I thanks for the great tips on
MEC routing, great detective work, your info is very appreciated,
I've been a Paris user since '98, always wondered if that routing
was possible in a usable scenario. very cool. JRI quit using PARIS a while ago. I just hang around to argue about religion
and stuff.

I would give much to be with you guys, but as allways in May, I use Euroes

Sorry, too far from Dimitros, since it will be on Creta with about 30
Scandinavian folksingers with friends. As I see, we'll be around 70 this
year to start the summer this way, both young, children and "oldies" like

I could tie in some kind of joke about that "Milkshake" song
here, but it would probably be really sick.
:)I need to get a wireless mic for club and event gigs (weddings,
corporate). I'm familiar with all the manufacturers and in many cases
the mics themselves, but I know just about nothing about features to
look for in a wireless system.
My tendency would be to look at Shure, AT, Audix first, but are there
any clear winners in the not expensive category? I may well be looking
for something used on EBay so it does not need to be a current model,
necessarily.
BillHi Bill,
Do you have a budget for this ?
Also - what mic are you singing with presently ?

Just thought you might want to know about the
current UAD PARIS group buy / crossgrades and UAD vouchers
Special for the PARIS community going on now !
UAD-1 DSP cards
$ 325 on project pak * plus 50 bonus voucher
$ 575 on Flexi - Pak * includes 500 voucher plus $100 bonus voucher
$ 949 on Ultra pak * plus 150 bonus voucher
$ 375 on EXPRESS Pak PCI-E * includes 100 voucher plus 50 bonus voucher
$ 849 on EXPERT Pak PCI-E * includes 750 voucher plus 100 bonus voucher
We're giving you three reasons to run out and buy UAD DSP cards, right now.
Are you ready? The reasons are: $50, $100, and $150!
That's right! If you purchase and register a new UAD DSP PAK between April
1st, 2007 and June 30th, 2007, you'll get a non-expiring UAD$ Voucher for
the UA Online Store. The bigger the PAK, the bigger the voucher. It works
like this:
UAD-1 UAD-1e UAD$ Voucher
1. Project PAK Express PAK 50
2. Flexi PAK Expert PAK 100
3. Ultra PAK Extreme PAK 150
Once again, these UAD$ Vouchers DO NOT EXPIRE! You may use them at any time
in the future, on any item in the UA Online Store. All you need to do is
purchase and register those UAD DSP cards. The UAD$ Vouchers will appear
automatically.
There is no limit to the number of cards you can buy, and vouchers you can
get, but remember, a maximum of four UAD DSP cards can be used per computer.
Promotion expires June 30th, 2007 at midnight, Pacific time.
UAD-1 to UAD-1e Cross Grade - EXTENDED!
UA is offering a limited time Cross Grade Promotion for UAD-1 users.
Purchase and register a new UAD-1e from an authorized UA dealer, and get an
additional UA store voucher (beyond the one that comes in the box) towards
your next Powered Plug-In Purchase, and KEEP or sell your UAD-1.
a.. Buy a new Express PAK, get an additional UAD$100 voucher
b.. Buy a new Expert PAK, get an additional UAD$250 voucher
c.. Buy a new Extreme PAK, get an additional UAD$250 voucher
Insiders tips
a.. You may cross grade as many times as you like, without limit, until
the promo expires, as long as a PCI UAD-1 card remains in your account
b.. ANY UA UAD-1 changes to a Project PAK if you choose to sell it and
keep your plug-in licenses (Mackie cards also have 1176LN & LA-2A). Please
read our UAD-1 transfer policy
c.. These vouchers do not expire!
The UAD-1e can be integrated seamlessly with your UAD-1 cards, up to four
total per system. Yes- all of your existing plug-in authorizations will work
with your new UAD-1e card.
Promotion ends June 30th 11.59PST

We sell and install the Shure wireless and are very happy with the line.

Bill,
I use a Sennheiser and it kicks too. Tone is very clear
compared to a 58 but still a dynamic.
The newest wireless setups have a muting circuit to eliminate
the squeal/squelch that can kill your speakers/mood if=20
you leave the mic off and the receiver on by accident.
There will also less frequencies available in the future
so multiple frequency transmission/reception is going to become
more important from what I've read. Maybe something that
hasn't been dealt with presently in hardware.
