being able to properly monitor both cards at once.

despise Microsoft a great deal more than you do, because I have to deal with
their hideous, bloated software all the time.

either some tax shelter
advantage, and/or the deal he cut with the board when signing on with Apple
this time - $1 salary
in exchange for stock options, etc worth much more. The $1 salary is likely
there so he is listed
as an employee rather than volunteer. I seriously doubt there was any other
reason
than the pure legality and financial advantages to him and the company.

I
seriously doubt his salary
would impact the company's bottom line enough to be an act of charity. And
though it could
be a publicity stunt, that seems less than likely as well.

Comparing salaries isn't a way to evaluate greed or charity.
Gates and others have contributed a lot to education and other charities -
don't know about SJ.
I'm not impressed by extreme wealth, but even so, I think it's a bit
difficult to judge either Bill or Steve's
motivations from a sizable distance.

There are just too many examples of excessive salaries, stock options and
personal wealth in many
industries to point fingers in any one direction.

Regards,
Dedric
