core/core 2 intel CPUs... hmm...... have you run that MS/Intel patch?
Also curious, have you popped open Task Manager in Windows and looked at
what was going on?
IRQ sharing?
Could just be lousy coding on PT's part. Have you tried it on an AMD setup
per chance?
256 vid ram oughta be way more than enough.

>Hey guys - been lurking for a long time, haven't posted in years. But
I've just started working heavily with my Paris rig again, and though
I've scoured the depths of the newsgroup and been through my manual
cover to cover, there's one thing I can't seem to do. So I turn to you,
oh wise and helpful compadres!
How do I move (or delete) a whole track in freeform mode? I had to
insert some audio tracks to import all my audio, and my MIDI track got
stuck as track 34 or some such. Now I want to make it track 23, and I
can't seem to find any way to move or delete the track itself (not just
the objects). I can certainly add another MIDI track at #23, but then
I'd have this orphan MIDI track hanging out in the middle of nowhere.
Granted this does nothing more than affront my slightly OCD
sensibilities, but I have a hard time believing that Paris doesn't have
a track move/delete function. Am I missing it?
On a side note, has anyone thought to make a package of the original
Paris skin? I downloaded the new skins from the parisfaqs site, but I
didn't see the original skin. I'm working on the whole skinning for the
Mac bit, and I need a copy of the original BMP for comparison. If
anybody has them handy, could you send them along?
Thanks!!
MattHi Martin,
Are you using the machine for gaming?
What size power supply you trying to use with that 8500 card?
They need a minimum of 700 watt to even begin to be reliable.
Are you using the current drivers for the 8500 and are you using dual
monitors?
Are you using PT 7.31? If you are using anything earlier then it could
be PT acting up.

It's not ignorance, some people choose to not deal with the hassle of administrating
and maintaining security software. Who wants to be a security administrator?
It is a costly, time consuming PITA! I think it's an unwillingness to
suck up to Microsoft and their "crappy" software.

ruth is, we are all paying for the lack of scruples of hackers. MS and
Apple certainly have to, and should
protect the integrity of their OSs, but inevitably, users still pay for
whatever does or doesn't work in that regard (we get almost weekly security
updates from Apple via OSX update manager, so it isn't a non-issue).
But, when comparing the best choice for a given user and application,
viruses are hardly a main concern for those of us
that just don't put ourselves in a position to be at risk (just as I don't
buy stereos from guys in white vans in 7-11 parking lots...yep, seen that
one :-).
Not a virus or spyware in 10 years. Two system drives destroyed by kernel
panics (an OS should *never* crash a drive at the hardware level), a bad
motherboard, and a bad combo drive,
