sively higher today, when
many hold your view of men, than in a time when men decided what we
are to be and what our values are. To me, we retain that, while adding
in freedom, equality, and self-determination for women and you have a
better world.

As soon as some piece of sh*t does something evil and insane, somebody
starts talking about testosterone and hardware rather than personal
ethics and responsibility. Of course no one talks about estrogen and
the need to raise women better when some sicko stabs her newborn
100 times. Nah, we whine about depression... Poor women... bad men!!

Bull

Perhaps we have to damned many crying men and not enough her

C I either carry illegally or
don't carry. One of my cop friend in New Haven told me he'd rather take a
pinch for carrying illegally than be attacked, and that in any case the fact
that I have a CT permit would be at least considered by the police if something
happens.

Anywho, it's odd. The three states I've lived in--Wisconsin, Minnesota, and
Connecticut--are some of the bluest of blue states, but are surprisingly
gun friendly. I guess it's the old farm boy traditions in the midwest, in
WI one doesn't even need a permit to carry and even handguns don't have to
be registered, the law says only that one should 'exercise caution' when
carrying a firearm.

Don, in respect for you as a bombastic writer and the man you are, but with
all you have written here about women in the lasts, do you ever believe you
can live up to be respected that standard way from now and 'till you'll be
80?-)

erlilo, just curious from another side of our planet;-)For me it's removable hard drive trays. Fill them up, archive the contents
with CDFinder and put away in a dark, dust proof place that never gets too
hot or cold. I keep the drives in trays when in storage, so bringing them
back only takes a few seconds. I only save the original Paris files and project
folder plus project notes. I do generally save a second copy of the final
ppj with plugins removed. Older CDs and DVDs have failed on me. So far,
all my old drives are still working. I do try to spin each drive up once
or twice a year.

Major-label work also gets a DVD written that is kept “off site” in a safety
deposit box at my bank. These projects also get screen shots of plugins and
track layouts as well as wave files rendered. Many labels want finals turned
in a Pro Tools files.

My trays are compatible with the two produ

Does anyone have a lead as to how we might be able to dig up .ppj file format
documentation? Justin, the developer of Reaper, indicated that it might
be possible to have Reaper read Paris projects directly. T'would be very
cool.A friend is asking me about the Neumann UM57. They've used a modded U67
which they like a lot but it's out of the price range.

If you were buying a mic for female and male vocals in a funk band,
would you select the UM57?

What else would you consider (from any manufacturer, at the price of a
UM57 or lower)?

Cheers,
-Jamie
www.JamieKrutz.comAsk Edmund. Somehow the paf file format snuck out, but I've never ever seen
the ppj format, because that was Edmund's baby, and I've never seen so much
as a snippet of his code :-)

with this mic & I gotta say I really am
starting to like it... it sounds VERY reminiscent of my E251C,
but perhaps with a little less high end - a bit more "rounder"
tone, but still has some decent highs there. Nice proximity
effect if you want it, but really also works well if you back
off a bit - smoe mics tend to like one or the other, this one
seems to be able to work well either way. They're like $699 new
& $400 to $500 used, that I've seen anyway. I have a feeling
this mic would work well with both male & female vox, but have
only had a chance to try it on my own voice so far, so that's
just a "hunch".

B.L.U.E. Babybottlebluebird:
No, this is not one mic, it's two... someone else here (Dave,
or Gene, I think) said that the Bluebird is great on female
vocals - I have a pair, but haven't tried 'em on female vox
yet, but I can see how they'd say that - to me they sound like
a 414 with less "hard" midrange presence & actually a tad more
warmth. The Baby Bottle absolutely fucking rocks on male
vocals, and I can personally attest that on one occasion I've
auditioned it up against as many as 4 mics that cost as much as
(literally) more than ten times it's price for that application
& it's won. Doesn't mean it's going to be the best for every
male voice app, but that still says a lot, I think.
Point is: If you've got both a male & a female voice to please,
why settle for just one mic for recording them if you don't
necessarily have to? BabyBottleBluebirdBothBrandnew...
$1,100 total.

Something to think about.

OK, now I'm done.
:)
