sical hardware aiding or associated with it (either inside the computer
- like
a pci card, or outside the computer - like a reverb unit).
So waves/psp/sonalksis/melodyne etc plugins are native, but Liquid Mix (a
box
outside the computer) UAD (a DSP card inside the computer).
The confusing part is that some non-native plugins are seen by host applications
as
if they are native. So Paris sees UAD plugins as native, even thought they
have their
own separate DSP card.

It means DAW's that run around with primitive weapons &
loincloths.
:Dnative+computer does all the processing
non-native additional hardware handles the audio/dsp (ie paris eds
cards)

Anyone else getting operational issues with these things?
In my case, if I'm inserting & de-inserting them on the fly,
I've had several lockups where the CPU meter doesn't get close
to 100%, but Cubas

a rest willya at least until we find out what they are up to.
DCCarnac ! hahaha Oh the suspense. I can't wait !That's harsh.. I'd welcome something new from ID. Paris was still in it's
infacy when they pulled the plug.
I remember Edmund showing me a "working" version of Paris "Native" on Mac
OS back in 2000 NAMM. I mean it was working really good.
So, to have a native VST version of Paris that spealize in Tracking, routing,
mixing would be great. Forget about the midi sequencer, vsti's..
Well??? If he had all that working , then okay..
I hold any ill feelings to ID what so ever. Only to Creative and EMU.
Even more, I stated back in 2000-2002 that EMU made a very bad strategic
move when it pour most of it's resources into ROmplers. Most of them bombed,
saved for the Planet Phatt module. Now look at them. Can't give away the
samples for their softsampler. And, to this day, their Audio cards still
suffer from "just okay" drivers..

Those plugins(Antress) sound very good. The verb and delay is very natural.
As are the compressors.
Which (Plugin(s)) do you like?

>NeilYou may be onto something there LaMont. Releasing native versions of the
software seems possible. The software side was ID's realm.
Any non-compete agreements may be about to expire with Creative.
With today's native hardware speeds, the fast PARIS hardware that
offloaded DSP processing from the computer's CPU may be somewhat
superfluous.
The PARIS software could rock on an octo-core box.
Things they could do include lifting the old hardward-bound 16 channel
limit, and finish
